Gangtok, Nov 4 (PTI): The Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN) has been selected for the Indian Cooperative Excellence Award 2026 in recognition of its contribution to strengthening the cooperative movement in the state.
The award will be presented at the Indian Cooperative Summit and Excellence Awards 2026, scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on November 19, SICUN said in a press statement.
The recognition acknowledges the union’s institutional initiatives and efforts in cooperative development, capacity building, digital empowerment and inclusive growth, the statement said.
The latest recognition comes less than two months after SICUN received the SKOCH Award 2026 in New Delhi on September 26 for its Integrated Cooperative Development, Training and Livelihood Enhancement Programme.
“Receiving two prestigious national-level recognitions within a short span is a proud moment for SICUN and the entire cooperative fraternity of Sikkim,” the union said.
SICUN said the national-level recognitions would further motivate it to strengthen the cooperative sector in Sikkim in line with the vision of ‘Sahakar Se Samriddhi’.
