Sikkim BJP holds ‘Jan Kalyan Shivir’

Gangtok, Jun 19 (PTI): The BJP Sikkim unit on Friday organised a Jan Kalyan Shivir at M G Marg here as part of the nationwide celebrations marking 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, facilitating enrolment and awareness drives for several flagship welfare schemes of the Central government.
The camp, which commenced at 10 am, witnessed the participation of beneficiaries from Gangtok and adjoining areas who availed services related to social security, healthcare and livelihood programmes. The initiative was organised by BJP Sikkim in coordination with the state government and other stakeholders.
According to a press release issued by BJP Sikkim, the camp provided on-the-spot enrolment support for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and e-Shram registration, enabling eligible citizens to access benefits under the schemes.
Senior citizens aged 70 years and above, along with eligible Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration card holders, were assisted in registering for Ayushman Bharat benefits. Workers from the unorganised sector, including construction labourers, drivers, domestic workers, street vendors, artisans, agricultural labourers, delivery personnel and other self-employed individuals, were also enrolled under the e-Shram portal.
Besides enrolment services, officials and volunteers at the camp disseminated information on a range of central government initiatives, including PM Mudra Yojana, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), PM Vishwakarma, PM SVANidhi, PM-KISAN, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
The camp served as a one-stop platform for citizens seeking guidance on eligibility criteria, documentation requirements and the process of availing benefits under various government programmes.
“BJP Sikkim had appealed to all eligible beneficiaries and aspiring individuals from Gangtok and nearby areas to attend the camp with the required documents and take advantage of the opportunity to access information, guidance and benefits under various central government schemes,” the party stated in the press release.
