SIR of Electoral Roll in Noklak from Aug 16

DIMAPUR: In pursuance of the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer (DEO) Noklak has issued a circular regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of Electoral Roll, with October 1, 2026 as the qualifying date.
As per the schedule, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct house to house visits under their respective polling stations and distribute Enumeration Forms with pre printed details of existing electors from August 16 to September 14, 2026. Electors have been advised to keep ready a current passport size photograph to facilitate verification.
The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) will prepare and publish the draft electoral roll on September 20, 2026, consisting of names of electors who have submitted duly filled forms during the enumeration period. The period for claims and objections will be from September 20 to October 20, 2026, while the notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will be carried out between September 20 and November 18, 2026. Electors with discrepancies or without proper linkage to the electoral roll of the last intensive revision may be required to appear before the ERO/AERO with requisite documents prescribed by the ECI.
The circular further directed all Administrative Officers, Ward Authorities, Village Councils and Booth Level Agents to extend full cooperation to BLOs during the verification exercise, ensure wide publicity of the programme, and advise residents to remain available during house to house visits.
DC Noklak emphasized that the SIR exercise is aimed at ensuring that no eligible citizen is left out and no ineligible person is included in the electoral roll, urging all concerned to render assistance for its successful conduct.
