State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) Nagaland Saturday organised a training on People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) for preparation of Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP) 2024 for village functionary Rural Development (RD) blocks of Wokha district at Village Development Board (VDB) Hall, Wokha.
The primary objective of the training was to enhance the effectiveness of GPDP implementation and facilitate discussions on development plans for villages and blocks. Nodal officer for RGSA at SIRD, Dr. Juthusuthio Phoji provided insights into the introduction of the training, the PPC, and thematic GPDP. He informed that GPDP which was introduced in 2018 was revamped in 2023 and would culminate in 2026.
According to Dr. Phoji, the training will focus on discussions of the revamped GPDP and the roles and functions of village functionaries. He informed that various aspects for the improved functioning of villages and blocks would be addressed.
Senior lecturer at SIRD, Dr. Rokosuno Kintso, conducted a session on thematic GPDP, covering the roles of facilitators and line departments in its implementation. The session also addressed crucial development issues, including the needs and priorities of communities.
The training featured activities such as data porting into GPDP and eGramSwaraj portals. Village functionary from seven blocks namely Wokha, Wuzhuro, Bhandari, Changpang, Sanis, Chukitong, and Ralan attended the training.
