Six editions of the reality show Bigg Boss across India—Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bangla—are set to launch in September, marking the franchise’s largest celebration yet. The shows will feature their iconic hosts: Salman Khan, Vijay Sethupati, Nagarjuna, Kichcha Sudeepa, Mohanlal, and Sourav Ganguly. To commemorate this milestone, JioStar has unveiled India’s Bigg Reality, a first-of-its-kind coffee table book chronicling the franchise’s journey, cultural impact, and brand integration strategies.
Mahesh Shetty, Head of Entertainment Sales, TV, JioStar, highlighted the show’s ability to reinvent itself over two decades, driving cultural relevance and brand engagement. Bhaskar Ramesh, Head of Entertainment Sales, Digital, emphasized Bigg Boss as a magnet for unified audience attention during the festive season, noting a 47% year-on-year growth in engagement through live feeds, billions of votes, and interactive chats.

The book illustrates how Bigg Boss transcends traditional viewing, creating shared cultural moments and measurable business outcomes. Adapted from the Dutch format Big Brother, the show places contestants in an isolated house under constant surveillance, with eliminations leading to a single cash prize winner. Over the years, Bigg Boss has expanded across multiple Indian languages, cementing its place as a cultural phenomenon. (IANS)
