SJU holds 3rd ‘Psych-Fest 2K23’

Department of Psychology and Counselling, St. Joseph University (SJU) conducted its 3rd Psych-Fest 2K23 under The theme “Katharsis” on September 29 and 30 at the university campus.


Inspector of Excise, Government of Nagaland, proprietor of Achievers Academy Coaching Institute and author of Nagaland NPSE books, Phira M, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while registrar Dr. Sethupathy, was the special guest. Psych-Fest 2K23 conducted various competitions such as short film, slam poetry, model exhibitions, graphic story and photography, collage, debate, street play, cosplay, treasure hunt, open mic, tug of war, and outdoor games. Altogether, 250 students participated in the event from various institutions and winners were honoured with cash awards and certificates.


In his inaugural speech, Phira M shared personal anecdotes and experiences he underwent as a young student unaware of his inner potential and calling. He challenged the students to continue to pursue their dreams and not let failures define their destiny. He emphasized on mental health and underscored the importance of understanding the psychology of human behaviour in addressing contemporary societal challenges.

Dr. Sethupathy applauded the department for organizing such an event providing a platform for students to express enabling students to develop important professional and leadership skills apart from classroom learning. The fest was a vibrant and intellectually stimulating event that brought together students, faculty, and psychology enthusiasts to celebrate and explore various facets of the field.
