SJU holds fresher’s induction programme

St. Joseph University (SJU), Dimapur held its Students Fresher’s Induction Programme 2025 on July 8 to welcome newly admitted undergraduate first semester students.
The programme began with an inaugural session chaired by Dr. Rhonthunglo W. Kithan. Rev. Fr. Dr. Sunny Joseph offered the invocation prayer, followed by a welcome song and a cultural dance by students from the Education Department. Dean of Social Sciences and Management Studies, Prof. V.T. Vasagan, gave the welcome address while Rev. Sr. Chinnamal, Finance Controller, honoured the special guest, Bambi Kevichusa, Creative Head, Windfall India. Inaugural address was delivered by Registrar, Dr. A. Robert Xavier.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. D. Gnanadurai gave the presidential address and the guest speech was delivered by Bambi Kevichusa. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Charles Mhonhtung Ezung. The university anthem was led by Ms. Kevipenuo Zhotso.
The second session was the academic orientation. Prof. Dr. Gowri S.A., Dean of Sciences, gave an overview of academics. Prof. Ezung explained the discipline policy and Dr. S. Thiyagarajan, Controller of Examinations, briefed students on the exam system. The programme concluded with a benediction by Mughakali A, Assistant Professor, Education Department.
The event aimed to help freshers get familiar with university life and academic expectations. The programme ended with a photo session and refreshments.
