Department of Physics, St. Joseph University (SJU), Chümoukedima, conducted one day workshop on “Advanced XRD Analysis in Scientific Research” on August 20, at the University Seminar Hall.
The event was graced by Dr. Debarun Dhar Purkayastha, serving as the resource speaker, a noted expert in the field, who delivered insightful sessions on the principles, techniques, and applications of X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis in modern scientific research. Purkayastha highlighted the importance of XRD analysis in scientific research and innovation, and encouraged students to take part in research programmes. He further elaborated Debye Scherrer, Williamson-Hall Plot, Crystallinity Determination from XRD data using origin. Altogether, Physics and chemistry students along with faculties, and research scholars from Physics and chemistry department and Students from Kohima Science College participated in the programme.
