SJU students stage flashmob for waste awareness

DIMAPUR

Students of St. Joseph University, in collaboration with e-Circle and WEN Nagaland, conducted a Waste Management Awareness Drive through a flash mob performance at WENN Bazaar, CT Square, Chümoukedima on October 4.
The lively performance drew attention from passersby and conveyed a strong environmental message, highlighting the urgent need for responsible solid and e-waste management.
Following the dance, students delivered a presentation on the adverse effects of improper waste disposal on public health and the environment.
Slogans such as “Waste isn’t waste until you waste it,” “Sort it right, keep it bright,” and “Structured disposal, sustainable growth” were prominently displayed and integrated into the performance, reinforcing the call for individual accountability and community participation.
Organizers concluded the event by urging the public to support local recyclers and emphasized that sustainable change begins with informed local action.
