
ATMA Phek conducted Skill Training for Rural Youth (STRY) on “Organic Production of Vegetable crops” from the September 13-18 at Phek town.
Resource persons during the training programmes were Horticulture Extension Assistant (HEA), Kelvin Khamo and Assistant Technology Manager (ATM), Phek block, Vepoto Ringa.
The resource persons trained the participants on the various topics such as cultural practices, nursery bed preparation, sowing time, importance of spacing, intercultural operation and disease-pest managements on various winter vegetables.
The training programme concluded with distribution of certificates and various vegetables seeds among the participants.
Altogether 17 rural youths attended the training programme. Earlier, on the opening day, the programme was chaired by DPD, Vinoka Y. Kiba, who briefed the participants on the aims of conducting such training, which was to impart skill based training to the rural youths and to promote employment.
