Skill training batch 22 for unemployed youth was inaugurated at Don Bosco Tech AIDA centre on August 21 with Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK), secretary, department of youth ministry, Rev. Aheto Sema as the chief guest.
A press note by Don Bosco Tech AIDA centre, coordinator, Regina Pamma Karai stated that, Rev. Aheto Sema asserted that financial constraints was one of the main factors due to which many youths were not able pursue higher studies.
He said termed “attitude problem and lack of information on skill training” as two main problems that youth faces and reminded the trainees that hard work and self-discipline are required for success.
Rev. Aheto also asserted that society needs to utilize the young people’s energy by giving proper skill training.
Rector of Don Bosco Dimapur, Fr C.T. Varghese, encouraged the trainees to learn, grow and move on with the value of honesty, value of hard work, value of integrity, value of appreciation, value of respect in the society.
MIS Don Bosco Tech Dimapur region, Esther Lakra, shared on the work of Don Bosco Tech in India and in Dimapur region.
She informed that the salesian province of Dimapur comprising of the states of Assam (Upper), Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh would train 35000 youth from rural areas by 2022.
She further added that till date Don Bosco Tech in Dimapur region has trained 9636 young people and gave placement to 6932.
Earlier, Yingsungo welcomed the gathering and Rebenthung shared his life testimony. The gathering was enthralled with Sumi and Angami folk dances and Nepali and Angami folk songs by trainees while Temjenkumla delivered the vote of thanks.
