Skills course training for govt officers

DIMAPUR

Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima conducted a week-long Direct Trainer Skills (DTS) training programme for government officers from August 4 to 8, 2025.
According to DIPR report, a total of 12 officers representing seven different government departments participated in the training, which is part of the Trainers Development Program (TDP) sponsored by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India.
The DTS course aims to equip trainers with essential instructional competencies to enhance their effectiveness in institutional training programmes. Key modules included instructional design, communication techniques, facilitation methods, and assessment strategies.
The training was coordinated by Dr. S. Rongsen Longkumer, joint director, ATI, and facilitated by two recognized trainers—Lakshmi Narayan Thakur, deputy director (retd.), Assam Administrative Staff College, and Prof. (Dr.) Soumitra Sen from Royal Global University, Guwahati.
On the concluding day, Director General, ATI, V. Shashank Shekhar, interacted with the participants and encouraged them to apply the skills acquired to improve governance and contribute meaningfully to society.
Director, ATI, Akunu Meyase extended heartfelt appreciation to the trainers for their insights and thanked the officer trainees for their active engagement, which contributed to the success of the programme.
