SKKD holds freshers’ meet

Sümi Kiphimi Küqhakulu Delhi (SKKD) celebrated its 29th freshers’ meet at Nagaland guest house, RK Puram, New Delhi on October 12.

Khekiye K Sema, IAS Retd, who graced the event as speaker recalled his youth days in Delhi and how he and his fellow Naga friends faced identity crisis.

Recalling his tenure as NSUD president in 1968-70, he mentioned Nagas as one family with various experiences without any tribal division.

SKKD president, Hotoka S. Shohe in his Presidential address encouraged the freshers to be attached to the Union to march ahead in unity.

He stated that Sumis in Delhi and NCR region lived as one family and were ready to extend helping hands for any assistance required.

Sumi Community Delhi chairman, Er. Hutovi Yeptho also exhorted the gathering.

Veto L Sumi and Vikili Aye were crowned as Mr. and Miss. Freshers respectively.  Highlight of the programme included war dance, special song and “Leshe”. Vote of thanks was delivered by SKKD general secretary, Akina Sumi.
