Sakus Mission College (SMC) celebrated its parting social with a formal and entertainment session at the college auditorium on March 28.
A press release from SMC media cell, stated that, Dr. Arenla Aier, principal, exhorted the gathering and stated that each and every individual had to run their own race and encouraged them to carry on moving forward to the end. She also challenged the outgoing students to tackle life’s responsibilities faithfully in order to fulfil God’s programme.
The college management also awarded certain individuals from the graduating batch of 2018. The student of the year award 2018 was bagged by Dhopili, best attendance was awarded to Vekrolü, best library user award Shetringam and best chapel participant Rokovi. Alumni Suanmuanlian (batch of 2015) was also specially recognized for rendering their selfless contribution towards the institution.
Nikhuli of B.A. 4rd semester chaired the formal programme, while students participated and displayed their talents and potentials.
In a separate programme, the college department of Sociology in collaboration with Eden Medical Centre, Dimapur (EMC) conducted a one-day Health Awareness and Free Medical Check-Up, at the college premises on March 29. Dr. M. Raleng gave a brief talk on the ill effects of using tobacco and shared some testimonial videos. Around 150 students received free medical check-ups along with free supplies of medication. The department of Sociology has extended heartfelt gratitude to the management of the College, EMC and the teaching staff of the college.
