A final public hearing on social audit of Sovima village under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) was held at conference hall, Rural Development (RD) Block, Chumukedima on Saturday.
Charing the programme, DPC/PD DRDA Dimapur, Alemla J Chishi also highlighted the MGNREGS programme that was successfully implemented by the RD department and Gram Sabha at village level in particular.
Delivering introductory speech, director, Social Audit Unit Nagaland, Zachive Thele appreciated the DRPs and VRPs for successfully conducting the social audit of Sovima VDB.
He also expressed gratitude towards Sovima VDBs and the public for judiciously utilising the MGNREGS funds as well as implementation of the programmes successfully.
The programme was followed by a presentation on social audit findings of Gram Sabha by DRPs and VRPs. Public from Sovima led by the village council chairman followed by director Social Audit unit, DPC/PD DRDA Dimapur, state coordinator, BDO/PO Chumukedima and APO attended the social audit hearing and participated in the discussion on audit findings.
The house reviewed the Gram Sabha resolution passed at Sovima village on July 20 and reaffirmed the nine-point resolutions of Gram Sabha.
