A District level public hearing on Social Audit under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 (MGNREGA) for projects implemented duringĀ the financial year 2020-2021 for six villages namely Chakpa, Chuchuyimlang (Chuchuyimlang Block); Khensa, Longkhum (Ongpangkong (S) Block); Lakhuni, New Vizo Model Village & (Longchem Block), under Mokokchung district was held at DRDA Conference Hall, Mokokchung on January 16.
According to a DIPR report, Project Officer, DRDA Imyapangla who chaired the social audit addressed and welcomed the dignitaries and participants.
Assistant Director from Social Audit Unit, Nagaland, Imlirenla Sanglir representatives of Social Audit Unit, DRDA Officials and BDOs along with staff of respective Blocks, Village functionaries, NGOs and MGNREGA workers attended the social audit.
Assistant Director, from social audit unit Nagaland, Imlirenla Sanglir, in her introductory speech reiterated the implementing agency on taking all the community of the villages on board during planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the scheme. She further stated that work demand should be made on priority with due consultation and in accordance with the requirement of the community. Sanglir also informed that apart from MGNREGA, the NSSAA, Social Audit Unit, Nagaland has taken up social audit for the Schemes- PM Poshan, erstwhile MDM programme under Department of School Education, National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) under Social Welfare Department, Prime Minister Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) under Rural Development Department. Social Audit for Fifteenth Finance Commission under RD Department and Social Audit on Department of Social Justice & Empowerment (DoSJE) were on the pipeline.
EAC, Mokokchung, Zerutso Kesiezie who represented district administration as an observer, acknowledged the Social Audit Team for meticulously carrying out the social audit process.
