District-level social audit public hearing under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 (MGNREGA) for projects implemented during the financial year 2020-21 for Wokha district was held on January 12 at DC conference hall, Wokha.
12 villages namely Asha, Pangti, Sungro, Yanthamo, Sunglup, Yanchucho, Longtsung (Sanis Block) Niryo, Yikhum, Ekhyoyan, Elumyo, Okheyan (Wokha Block) were audited during the 3rd phase social audit during the financial year 2022-23.
Deputy Project Officer, DRDA Wokha, Shuyhunle Nyethong who chaired the social audit, welcomed the dignitaries and participants.
Assistant Director, from Social Audit Unit Nagaland, Imlirenla Sanglir, representatives of the Social Audit Unit, DRDA and RD Block officials, village functionaries, NGOs, and MGNERGA workers attended the social audit.
Assistant Director, from Social Audit Unit Nagaland, Imlirenla Sanglir in her introductory remark briefed on the importance of social audit under MGNREGA and emphasized following the guidelines during the implementation of projects.
Extra Assistant Commissioner Wokha, Rosy Sangtam represented the district administration, wherein she emphasized the maintenance of three phases of photos as documentary evidence.
District Resource Person, Loluvole Thakro and Yanathung Odyuo, Block Resource person highlighted the audit findings, and accordingly, resolutions were brought out after general discussion such as maintenance of a detailed transparency board for all the executed projects, the conduct of Rozgar Diwas on regular basis, proper maintenance of records and documents, maintenance of three-phase photographs.
