Directorate of Social Welfare (DoSW), Kohima, held a felicitation programme for advisor of Social Welfare (SW), Home Guard and Civil Defence (HG&CD), Noke Konyak on April 25. The programme was chaired by additional director of SW, Tulula Pongen.
A press release from DoSW stated that, the advisor in his speech, stressed on cooperation among staff as being vital for a department to be successful. He assured that he would bridge the gaps and address the shortfalls in the department.
He also deliberated upon the verification of genuine and eligible beneficiaries under various welfare schemes and to remove all bogus beneficiaries. He further stated that the field officers of the department should perform their duties sincerely and deliver all needed services to the community. He assured the department of his support and commitment in achieving new heights.
The director T. Merangtsungba Aier, his welcome speech shared the activities of the department and also highlighted the grievances and problems faced by the department. He sought the advisor’s guidance and assistance while assuring him of full cooperation and coordination from the department. O. T Chingmak Chang, commissioner & secretary, SW spoke on the acute shortage of manpower causing difficulty in implementing departmental programmes.
He urged the staff to work with full sincerity for the welfare of the public. Banuo Vinito, chairperson, NSSWB also spoke briefly. Vote of thanks was delivered by joint director SW, Chubanienla Jamir.
