Solution violating Lakuti Resolution not acceptable : NNC/FGN

Affirming that NNC under AZ Phizo stood by independent Nagaland as declared on August 14, 1947 and the plebiscite of May 16, 1951, Naga National Council (NNC) and Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) declared they would not recognise any settlement that violates NNC Lakuti Resolution of April 27, 1955.

NNC spokesperson Kolezo Chase said a joint meeting held at transit peace camp on Monday, clarified that FGN had been running the affairs of the nation under Naga national flag and yehzabo (constitution) since March 22, 1956 and that NNC/FGN stood committed to the terms of the 1964 ceasefire agreement signed by FGN and Government of India as two “sovereign nations”.
As for an end to the illegal occupation of India over Nagaland and all her ancient territories, NNC/FGN said they were still committed to a peaceful non-violent settlement between the two nations.
