SPC Riphyim declared new parish centre

St. Peter’s Catholic Church (SPC) Riphyim, under the theme “Peter you are the Rock and on this Rock I will built my Church” (Mt. 16:18) held a declaration of new parish centre on June 29, with Rev. Fr. Carlous Neisalhou, vicar general, Diocese of Kohima as the main celebrant and C. Hachio Patton, PS to deputy chief minister, Y. Patton as special guest. 

A press release from media in-charge, Yanrenthung J Humtsoe stated that, coinciding with the feast of St. Peter and St. Paul the monolith was unveiled by C. Hachio Patton and dedication was done by Fr. Carlous Neisalhou.  
The unveiling of the monolith was followed by Holy Mass celebration led by Rev. Fr. Carlous. In his homily Rev. Fr. Carlous thanked the Almighty for the auspicious occasion and dedicated the honour to the glory of God. He highlighted the life of St. Peter and St. Paul and encouraged the congregation to live a holy life and get touched and transformation by reflecting the life of St. Peter and St. Paul. He said the day was a day of blessing, rejoicing, thanks giving and a day of the duo Saints. He further urged the community for active participation magnifying the Body of Christ in all the activities of Riphyim parish. 
The programme adjourned with the second session hosted by Wilson Odyuo. The second session commenced with a welcome address by Michael Humtsoe followed by speeches from leaders of various organisations and churches. In the second session the special guest thanked the Almighty for the grand occasion and attributed the blessings to the Almighty God. He also extended his profound gratitude to the Bishop of Kohima Diocese and the priest and nuns for their immense contribution towards establishing parish centre at Riphyim village. He asserted that it was the responsibility of every individual for the progress and growth of the parish and urged the gathering to be responsible for it will greatly benefit the Englan range at large. 
The second session witnessed a choreography from the catechism students and a special number from Mhayilo & Valenty and vote of thanks was delivered by Rev. Fr. Manu Manthra.
