The exercise for conduct of Special Summary Revision of the e-rolls of all the 39 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) is scheduled to start from March 8, 2024 with the final publication to be made on April 12, 2024 as per the timeline submitted by the State Election Commission.
This was informed by the minister in-charge for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, on the last day of the 14th the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, while replying to a query raised by NPF member Kuzholuzo Neinu.
It was informed that the last revision of the e-roll of all the ULBs was conducted from August 3, 2022 to November 24, 2022 in the form of Intensive Revision with January 1, 2022 as the qualifying date.
Further, deletion and addition in the e-rolls of ULBs during the SSR was scheduled from March 11 to March 20, 2024.
It may be recalled that the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in September 2023 unanimously passed the new Municipal Act, incorporating a provision for 33% women reservation in Urban Local Bodies.
State deputy chief minister T.R. Zeliang had earlier said that the ULB election would be possible only after the 2024 Lok Sabha election and delimitation exercise in various wards of urban local bodies.
