Expressing serious concern on the slow progress of road construction from L-022 to Shishimi village under PMGSY, the Sitimi Area Sangtam Students’ Union (SASSU) has urged the contractor to speed up the work by adding extra machinery so that it could be executed before monsoon.
In a press statement, SASSU president, Edward P Sangtam and executive chairman, Aketo V Sangtam urged the contractor to ensure quality workmanship executed as per the Detailed Project Report (DPR).
The union also assured to extend its best cooperation for the smooth functioning of the work. However, cautioned that it will not compromise poor workmanship and will closely monitor the ongoing work. Therefore, the union has appealed to the contractor to follow all specifications.
Meanwhile, the union expressed appreciation to Shishimi Village Council and Shishimi Village Students’ Union for their cooperation during the physical inspection on the ongoing work carried out by SASSU on January 7.
