Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair the 25th Central Zonal Council meeting in Varanasi on Tuesday, prioritizing expedited investigation and disposal of sexual offense cases against women and children, particularly through Fast Track Special Courts (FTSC).
The meeting will also emphasize establishing brick-and-mortar banking facilities in every village and implementing the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS-112). Discussions will cover various regional issues including nutrition, education, health, electricity, urban planning, and cooperative systems.
The Central Zonal Council comprises Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. Chief Ministers, senior ministers, and officials from these states, along with central government officials, will attend. These councils serve as crucial advisory platforms to foster inter-state cooperation and resolve common issues, reflecting Prime Minister Modi’s push for cooperative federalism.
