SPFDD flays land encroachment

Sangtam Peoples Forum Dimapur District (SPFDD) has vehemently condemned what it called the “unprecedented and provocative activities” by some persons having vested interest, who had gone to Sangtamtilla village with sophisticated weapons with the intention to forcefully occupy some portion of land within the jurisdiction of Sangtamtilla village.
In a press release, SPFDD president, L Bitong, and general secretary, V. Avise Anar, pointed out that Sangtamtilla was physically established in the year 1951 and duly recognized by the then government in 1953, which was prior to the statehood and had been in existence since then without any dispute.
In this regard, SPFDD has asked the responsible individual to abstain from any illegal activities in order to avoid any further confrontation.
