Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) Phek unit has informed all the contractors awarded works for two-laning under SARDP-NE project, particularly those firms undertaking works in Phek district, that it was against subletting of works.
In a press release, NCSU Phek unit president, Kuzhosheyi Alex, and general secretary, Razou Lohe, stated that in case of substandard or incomplete works due to resultant subletting, those firms responsible for subletting would be held accountable.
Further, asserting that it discouraged any form of demands on the contractors, the unit appealed to all parties or groups to refrain from any type of demands.
NCSU unit said that it would not compromise on workmanship and would ensure that tyhe prescribed specification were adhered to.
It also sought cooperation from all contractors as well as public, NGOs and groups in order to ensure quality workmanship and successful completion of the project.
Reminding that the public felt the pinch from the last failed project, the union said it would supervise the works so that works were carried out smoothly and without any unwanted disturbances.
