Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, is on a two-day official visit to Jaipur’s Sapta Shakti Command, marking a crucial step in strengthening India-Sri Lanka military relations.
Upon his arrival, he was ceremonially welcomed by Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander of the South Western Command. The visit underscores the deep-rooted defense partnership and mutual respect between the two neighboring countries.
During the discussions, senior military officials exchanged insights on regional security, joint training programs, and operational strategies. The engagement included a live combat demonstration showcasing India’s counter-terrorism capabilities and military preparedness.
Beyond the strategic dialogues, Lt Gen Rodrigo explored Rajasthan’s martial heritage, visiting military landmarks and historic sites to understand India’s longstanding defense traditions.
Officials emphasized that this visit reinforces India’s commitment to enhancing defense cooperation with Sri Lanka, aiming to foster regional stability, improve military interoperability, and open new avenues for collaboration.
