SSM initaites ‘mission digital initiative’

SMA-Samagra Shiksha joint mission director, Dr. Chumbeni Kikon on Monday said that for the past two years, the Samagra Shiksha Mission (SSM) in the state could not be organised phase wise due to Covid-19 pandemic.
She said this while delivering keynote address at the programme on community awareness and sensitization on inclusive education, NIPUN Bharat vocational education, Out of School Children (OoSC) under RTE Act 2009. The programme was organised by Nagaland Education Mission Society, Samagra Shiksha at Holy Cross Higher Secondary School auditorium.
Dr. Chumbeni also highlighted on the activities taken up under the mission such as construction of hostels (type-1 and 2) for girl child at Kiphire, Mon, Tuensang and Longleng while Noklak has been clubbed with Tuensang district due to shortage of DEO.
Under the mission, digital initiative has also been carried out where smart TV and smart classroom has been initiated where Kiphire has been recognized as aspirational district under the mission and pre-loaded data covering the syllabus have been to the student from class- 8 to 12, she added.
Other resource persons of the programme were SMA-Samagra Shiksha, state coordinator Nukshi Angh, SMA-Samagra Shiksha state coordinator Lanusongla and SMA- Samagra Shiksha joint mission director Dr. Bichano Murry. They spoke on the topic “Vocational education”, “Inclusive education” and “NIPUN Bharat” respectively. During the programme, interactive session was carried out where queries and doubts were clarified. Earlier, welcome address was delivered by ADEO, Dimapur Limatula while DMA-Samagra Shiksha assistant district coordinator Freda Angami chaired the programme.
Samagra Shiksha to organise ‘Community mobilization programme’: Samagra Shiksha Nagaland will be conducting Community Sensitization Programmes in all the 11 district headquarters under Media and Community Mobilization Programme from January 24- 31.
State mission director, Temsunaro Aier in a press release informed that three teams comprising of officers and coordinators will be conducting the community sensitization programmes in the district headquarters.
