Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) held its Investiture and Academic Excellence Award Ceremony for the 2024–25 session at the school premises on June 27. The school principal, who graced the event as chief guest, conferred badges to the newly appointed School Captain, Adjutants, and house leaders. A total of 41 cadets took the oath of office, including 11 school appointees and 30 house appointees, among them three girl cadets.
During the programme, the school released its bi-annual newsletter Voice of the Young Warriors of Morung (VYWOM). The chief guest also presented awards to academic toppers. Students securing first, second, and third positions in each class were awarded gold, silver, and bronze torches respectively. The Cock House Trophy for best overall house performance went to Melak House (junior category) and Tizu House (senior category). Two Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) of the school were also felicitated. ANO Keshav Adhikary Chhetry received the Best Trainee Officer in Physical Fitness award for his performance at OTA Kamptee, Maharashtra, while ANO Sunil Kumar was honoured as Best ANO for the North East at the NCC Award Ceremony in Guwahati.
Congratulating the appointees and awardees, the principal urged them to be role models and lead with responsibility.
