DIMAPUR: Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) held a series of award ceremonies during a special school assembly to recognise outstanding achievements and overall performance of cadets.
According to a press release, 19 cadets from Classes VI to XI were honoured with Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for academic excellence in the 2025-2026 session. The school also announced winners of the Academic Excellence House Awards, with Shilloi House emerging champion in the junior category and Doyang House bagging the senior category award.
The much awaited Cock House Trophy, awarded for excellence across academics, sports, discipline and co curricular activities, was also presented. Pauna House lifted the Junior Cock House Trophy, while Japfu House clinched the Senior Cock House Trophy.
On August 22, Lt. Col. Akshay Singh (Sena Medal), a distinguished officer of the Indian Army, delivered a motivational lecture to inspire cadets to join the Defence Forces. He highlighted the process of joining the Forces and spoke about the adventurous and rewarding life that follows. Sharing his journey in the Army, he recounted experiences in counter insurgency operations, UN peacekeeping in Sudan, and intelligence assignments, motivating cadets to pursue careers in the Armed Forces.
