With the expiry of its 7-day ultimatum served on the state government to fulfil the assurances of posting maths and science teachers at Government High School, Sakshi under DEO Longleng, Sakshi Student’s Union (SSU), Longleng district, on Monday announced that it would shut down the school indefinitely with effect from August 16, 2016. In a press note, SSU president Pongshi Yangang and general secretary Hongba Yangang said the union could resort to second phase of agitation without further notice. Meanwhile, the union has cautioned that the school education department would be “held fully responsible for any incident that may occur during its agitation.”
