St John college organizes literary day

Laying importance on educating the students through co-curricular activities, literary day was organized by St. John College Dimapur, Tuesday here at its college campus.
Exhorting the students, college assistant professor of botany department TK Jana spoke on the importance of education through literature and on time management. He also encouraged the students to exercise their learning to deliver their best out of it.  
Highlights of the programme were active participation of the students and teachers in-charge in various competition namely spelling bee, quartet (song title-standing on the promises), quiz and debate competition on the topic “internet bring more good than harm”. 
Special number was presented by assistant professor of botany department Moaliba along with students, which was followed by entertainment session performed by all the classes and critics, was delivered by assistant professor of botany department Dr. Anungla. 
Winners were adjured in different categories based on their performance, in quiz competition Bhaskar and Suraj of B.Sc. 3rd semester, Kenevizo and Hopeson of B.Sc. 5th semester and Imtikala and Animesh of B.Sc. 1st semester bagged first, second and third respectively. 
In spelling bee category Gwanile Thong of B.A. 5th semester, Amba and Wajangnaro of B. Sc. 1st  and 3rd semester and Toshibenla Jamir of B.A. 3rd  Semester were awarded first, second and third respectively. 
In debate competition Hongsangsonla of B.Sc. 5th semester, Persaing of B.A. 1st semester and Aboka of B.Sc. 3rd Semester bagged first, second and third position respectively. In quartet competition B. Sc. 5th Semester, B.A. 5th semester and B. Sc. 3rd semester were awarded first, second and third position respectively.  Later, vote of thanks was delivered by assistant professor of botany, Uttam Nath.
