DIMAPUR: Students of St. John’s Higher Secondary School, Diphupar B, participated in the Young Scientist Programme organised by ISRO in Shillong, marking the fourth consecutive year of representation from the institution.
Two Class IX students, Tshope Lasushe and Kimeri Sangtam, attended the 2026 edition held from May 10 to 23, 2026. Notably, Kimeri Sangtam secured third position in project work during the programme. The school’s participation began in 2019 with one student and has steadily increased over the years.
The initiative aims to provide basic knowledge of space technology, science and applications, while fostering scientific temper and interest in STEM careers among students.
Principal Johny Abraham expressed pride in the achievement, stating that continued participation reflects the school’s commitment to science education and innovation. He added that the programme offers valuable exposure through interaction with peers and scientists. The school congratulated the selected students for their dedication and thanked ISRO for providing a platform to nurture young scientific talent in the Northeast.
