St. Paul’s Church Khulazu Basa under St. Andrew’s Parish Thenyizumi celebrated the golden Jubilee and church dedication on December 17 and 18 on the theme “in Him we live, and move and have our being.” (Acts17:28)
On the occasion, Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima unveiled the jubilee monolith and blessing of the Church after which Fr. Vemedo Joseph Kezo, the first priest of St.Andrew Thenyizumi parish inaugurated the church by opening the door to the church.
The celebration of the Holy Eucharist was presided by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima. Thoppil encouraged all the faithful to always be proud of the Catholic faith passed from the apostles to the faithful of the community and the pioneers.
After the celebration of the Eucharist, a short felicitation programme was conducted where the communities of St. Xavier’s church, Chozuba Town and St. Jude Church, Yoruba Village presented a song each.
CAN president, Johnny Ruangmie who is also president of Chakhesang Catholic Association (CCA) congratulated the community.
