St Paul in-service prog begins

St. Paul Institute of Education, Phesama, has launched its annual in-service programme. Every year the institute gives an opportunity to the teachers of Northeast to refresh themselves with the latest skills and techniques of teaching.
Altogether, 96 teachers from all over the Northeast are benefitting at present from this much sought after course. The 15 days crash course is loaded with theory as well as practical.
The annual course which has been conducted by the institute for the last 15 years includes areas like skills and techniques of teaching, classroom management, behaviour management, accelerated learning, study of the brain and its implications in the learning system, adapting teaching to the modern students, RTE, etc.
The resource persons are Rev. Dr Anand SJ, Rev. Dr. Sunny SJ, Sr. Deepthi FCC, Fr. Charles SJ, Fr. Gerard SJ, Rev. Adv. Ravi Sagar SJ, Sr. Tessin FCC and Felix SJ.
Apart from the various areas of teaching-learning, the programme also includes various activities and rhymes to make teaching-learning an enjoyable activity for the students. The activities like rhymes, dancercise and dynamic games are taught by Ms. Zapuvino, Ms Kevisedeno, Ms Visakhono, Ms. Rüüreno and Asiu.
The crash course gives an opportunity to the teachers to realize that teaching profession is a creative and enjoyable one. The teachers from all over Northeast learn practical aspects of teaching which would equip them to cater to the needs of their students.
The programme began with the ice-breaking session conducted by James Kulvi SJ and Joyson SJ. The vice principal of the Institute, Sr. Tessin FCC, has welcomed all the teachers.
