Stakeholder consultation onViksit Nagaland 2047 held in Kiphire

A district-level stakeholder consultation on Viksit Nagaland 2047 was conducted at the DPDB Hall, Kiphire on Thursday bringing together a wide spectrum of participants including government departments, civil society organizations, NGOs, private sector representatives, and community groups.
The programme commenced with registration and networking, fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders. Deputy Commissioner Temsuwati Longkumer delivered the welcome address and presented an overview of the Viksit Nagaland 2047 vision, emphasizing the importance of inclusive and forward-looking planning for the state’s future.
The sessions were moderated by Extra Assistant Commissioner (Development), HQ Kiphire, Takatemjen Pongen, who guided discussions throughout the consultation. Officials from the Planning Department and representatives from NIoT Shillong also contributed to the deliberations.
A sectoral assessment was presented by SDO PHED Kiphire, Er. Heoka Sumi, covering five major pillars of development—economic, social, environmental, infrastructure and governance. Participants later divided into thematic groups to discuss achievements over the past decade, existing gaps, future priorities and the needs of remote and marginalized communities.
During the plenary session, each group shared its findings and recommendations, followed by an open forum that allowed participants to voice additional suggestions. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and plans to compile the district report.
The district administration noted that the consultation was highly proactive, participative and productive, setting a strong example for other districts. Officials expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for their valuable contributions toward shaping the vision of Viksit Nagaland 2047.
