A “Stand Up India Clinic & Awareness Program” was organized by CAN YOUTH for start up and aspiring entrepreneurs on December 29 at the Tourist Lodge Dimapur, Conference Hall.
CAN YOUTH, 3E Space, project officer, Faihamti Longmailai, in a press release stated that the program was sponsored by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).
Albert Gangte, manager, SIDBI Dimapur, Bhairab Kalita, LDM SBI and representative from HDFC Bank, Yerimo, also attended the program and motivated the participants present in the program to avail online loans under Stand Up India so that it can help track entrepreneurs whose loans are pending.
Albert Gangte also clarified that Stand Up India was not a grant, but a loan which is unlike normal loans with higher rates of interest. The Stand Up India program helps genuine entrepreneurs who cannot not avail loans despite their effort with banks. He also demonstrated how to apply online for the loan.
A group discussion between the participants and banks officials was also done and the participants raised some questions. Among them were: whether loans could be availed for consultancy services; the time it takes to process a loan etc. Participants were also given time to interact one to one with bank officials.
Some of the entrepreneurs lodged loan applications under Stand Up India on the spot. All together 57 Participants were enrolled at the Stand Up India Clinic & Awareness Program.
Earlier, the program started with a welcome note by Faihamti Longmailai followed by a brief introduction by CAN YOUTH chief functionary, Jenpu Rongmei, about the purpose of the Stand Up India Clinic.
