State BJP celebrates PM’s birthday in various districts

On account of the 71st birthday of prime minister Narendra Modi, various morchas of the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) carried out programmes on September 17.

Kohima: BJP Nagaland organised a cleanliness drive under the theme, “Swaach Bharat” in Kohima town on September 17.

In a press release, state media cell convenor informed that the event was attended by state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio along with NDPP legislators Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, Tongpang Ozukum, Medo Yokha and Zale Neikha. 

Meanwhile, legislators from BJP Nagaland unit was led by deputy chief minister Y. Patton, Kashiho Sangtam, S. Pangnyu Phom, Longrineken and state BJP president Temjen Imna Along.

Altogether, 200 NDPP and BJP party workers participated in the cleanliness drive.

Mokokchung Kisan Morcha, BJP Mokokchung district, felicitated 18 farmers and ex-servicemen of Mokokchung, for their meritorious contribution to the upliftment of the nation, under the theme “Kisan Jawan Samman Divas”, at BJP conference hall here, on Friday, with district president Imolemba Jamir who presented certificates to recipients.

Ins his speech, Imolemba lauded the recipients for their selfless sacrifice towards nation building.

He said that “we are serving the people through the party principles”, and not through any religious principles.

Imolemba added that BJP was not a religious party but a political party, working for the upliftment of the country.

Meanwhile, significance of the day was delivered by Kisan Morcha, BJP Mokokchung district president Tiayanger Jamir while celebratory programme was chaired by state executive member, Kisan Morcha Longrinangba Kichu and a short speech was delivered by P Toshi on behalf of ex-servicemen and kisan.

Earlier, a prayer for the prime minister was led by Kisan Morcha, BJP Mokokchung district, secretary Tiamenla.

Wokha: State deputy chief minister, Y Patton donated food items, toiletries and other essential needs to Morning Star Children’s Home and Foundling Harbour Children’s Home Wokha, to commemorate the event.

According to deputy CM media cell, the packages were handed over by press secretary to deputy CM, Dr. Chanchibemo Shitiri in the presence of PAs and BJP workers of Wokha district.

Dimapur: Dimapur district minority Morcha led by its president, Prakash Chetri visited Neighborhood Children’s Home.

In a press release, Dimapur district minority morcha general secretary, Ankit Jain informed that the morcha distributed essential food items to the children’s home.

The programme was chaired by vice president Maibam Sanjit Singh, vote of thanks was delivered by secretary of Dimapur district minority Morcha Sipra Rani Nath while Rev. Daniel Shayan delivered a short speech.

Earlier, proprietor of Neighborhood Children’s Home, Rev. Daniel Shayan said a prayer for the prime minister, welcome address was delivered by Ankit Jain, secretary Ranabir Sarkar gave a brief note on Modi’s birthday while district’s minority morcha president Prakash Chetri talked about Modi’s contributions and achievements.
