State BJP clarifies on Jan 19 DAN meet

State BJP unit through a statement issued by its spokespersons, clarified that the question of support at the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) coordination committee meeting held in Kohima on January 19 did not arise as BJP members of DAN coordination committee were out of station.
The spokespersons also reiterated that all four BJP MLAs were intact “in the party line” and were stationed in Delhi “for further consultations with the party higher ups.”
While terming as “unfortunate” the ongoing 2-week unresolved crisis in the NPF, BJP said there was “nothing wrong” on the issue for change of leadership provided it was “resolved democratically”.
BJP said as a “concerned alliance partner of DAN”, it urged upon NPF “ to straighten” its own house in order as people were confused by existence of two parallel bodies and two presidents. The state unit also made it clear that it will not be part of any government that took the help of Congress in forming the government.
The state BJP unit also expressed serious concern over the alleged money transfer but appreciated chief minister T.R. Zeliang in welcoming any national investigation agency, to probe the matter.
Nagaland BJP unit spokespersons said it appealed to the state Governor to recommend CBI probe at the earliest.
Further, BJP said as per directive of the party high command, it cautioned party workers against siding with any group or lobbying in Delhi and warned of serious action against those defying the directive.
Meanwhile, it may be recalled that the DAN coordination committee member secretary K.G. Kenye in a statement on the January 19 meeting at Kohima, stated that it was “well attended”  wherein it resolved to support chief minister T.R. Zeliang and also as “undisputed leader of the DAN Legislature party”.
