Nagaland state BJP on Sunday organized Nagaland virtual rally at its state BJP office, Kohima.
Speaking on the occasion, deputy chief minister and BLP leader Y. Patton congratulated prime minister, central leadership and the BJP Karyakartas for the successful and meaningful completion of one year of the second term in office, asserting that one year of Namo-2 was historic and a year of achievements for the country.
Patton highlighted the main issue and achievements under Narendra Modi like the passing in legislation against the Triple Talaq, repealing Article 370 and 35A in J&K, facilitation for settlement of Babri-Masjid issue in Ayodhya, enacting the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, resolving the long pending issue for Sikh devotees by ensuring access to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib.
He added that Modi government has taken a bold decision to appoint the chief of defence staff for the first time in the history of the country, settlement of 34,000 people belonging to Bru community in Tripura by signing the Bru- Reang Refugee agreement signing of Boro Agreement and under Modi’s leadership the protracted Naga political negotiation has gained a new momentum.
Further he said Modi government has announced providing housing for all under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and has also achieved a major landmark in helping more than 1 crore beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
Asserting that the first year of NAMO-2 had been both momentous as well as of challenges, Patton said that even though the nation encountered COVID-19 pandemic the PM has received accolades from the world leaders and global organizations for timely national lock down.
For Nagaland state, Patton said BJP was a responsible coalition partner, having 12 BJP legislators in the house of 60 members assembly and for the last two years, PDA government under the chief minister Neiphiu Rio delivered good governance guided by the vision of the central government.
While stating that BJP Nagaland state unit was doing its best in handling the COVID-19 situation and other welfare activities, Patton added that BJP legislators has been extending financial assistance to various sections of the needy people in all the districts and will continue its services and welfare activities for the people.
He appealed all the BJP karyakartas to continue to give more efforts in fighting against this COVID-19 and also to strictly follow the government guidelines.
