State cabinet on Saturday resolved to begin construction of a medical lodge in Shillong considering the need of many Naga patients, who undergo medical treatment at North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute for Health and Medical Sciences.
Sources informed that the construction would take place at Mawdiangdiang Shillong, adjacent to Meghalaya ATI complex.
It may be mentioned that state deputy chief minister Y Patton along with BJP legislators in April last inspected the original plot of land allotted for Nagaland medical lodge in the outskirts of Shillong and the proposed new site, which is 600 meters away.
Meanwhile, the State cabinet has also approved the nomenclature/spelling of Yimchunger to Yimkhiung.
