State College of Teacher Education adopts Chedema village

State College of Teacher Education (SCTE), Kohima, held the launching programme of “Chedema Village Adoption” on April 28, 2026. The initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which encourages higher education institutions to adopt villages to address local challenges through participatory intervention.
The programme aims to create a two-way learning partnership focusing on skill development, community sensitization and promotion of indigenous knowledge. The event brought together representatives of the village including head GB, SMC members, head teacher, mothers’ representatives, Students’ Union members and teachers of GMS Chedema at the school common room. The college was represented by vice principal Dr. Runi Nakro along with faculty members Rose Mary Achumi, Dr. Neizekhonuo and Dr. Rokuonuo Usou.
