State Covid caseload nears 24,000 mark; 2 deaths

Nagaland on Wednesday reported 111 fresh Covid-19 positive as the total caseload neared the 24,000 mark while the state also witnessed a sharp decline in number deaths at two.

Of the fresh cases, Mokokchung reported 48 cases, Dimapur and Kohima- 20 each, seven each in Phek and Tuensang, five in Mon, three in Kiphire and one in Wokha, taking the total caseload to 23965.

Further, the death toll rose 461 (including 14 non-Covid deaths but with Covid positivity) after two more patients succumbed to the infection in Dimapur.

PTI: A single day rise of 62,224 new Covid cases were reported taking India’s total tally to 2,96,33,105, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

The Covid-19 death toll climbed to 3,79,573 with 2,542 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.
