State excise duty party manning Chumukedima check gate, Dimapur detected and seized 90 kgs of contraband ganja from a taxi (NL01T 8944) and arrested three occupants of the vehicle namely Kedungu alias Zechiete, Lhitsomo Mero Khwerü Litro of Pfutsero town.
A case was registered at Dimapur district excise office and charged under the stringent NDPS Act. The trio was forwarded to judicial custody.
In a separate incident, excise sleuth arrested one Aso Yeptho from her residence Burma camp, Dimapur for peddling pharmaceutical drug – Spasmoproxyvon. According to excise team she was caught when she was in the process of counting the capsules on her bed and seized 258 capsules. She was charge under Drug and Cosmetics Act.
