State government directive to DCs

Since the state was still under lockdown and state boundary continued to remain sealed, the state government has directed all the deputy commissioners to strictly ensure that movement of people/vehicle was not allowed except those exempted under MHA guidelines. In an order, the additional chief secretary & commissioner Nagaland, Sentiyanger Imchen, reminded the DCs that the order was for strict compliance.  On Saturday the Assam government decided to open the inter-state borders with all the North Eastern states starting May 3, 2020. However, the state chief secretary Temjen Toy said that the state borders would continue to remain sealed. He said that though Assam had contacted Nagaland to inform that it was opening the borders, Nagaland borders would continue to remain sealed. It was also learnt that Manipur has decided to open its borders. Meanwhile, all existing guidelines of lockdown will continue in Nagaland until fresh guidelines are issued.  This was confirmed by principal secretary (Home) Abhijit Sinha on Sunday.
