State govt reiterates on self-declaration OM

State government Friday reiterated that the office memorandum (OM) dated July 7, 2020 relating to furnishing of self-declaration form by state government employees with respect to family members and relatives in “underground organizations” was issued on the direction of the governor.

A statement issued by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) reiterated that “the letter of this direction was sent to the Chief Secretary from the Commissioner & Secretary to Governor on 14th February, 2020 asking for the information to be furnished by 2nd April, 2020. A reminder letter was received from the Governor’s office on 24th June, 2020 requesting to furnish the information urgently for the perusal of the Governor.”
Further, the state government clarified that the term “underground organisations” used in the OM dated July 7, 2020 was conveyed by the Raj Bhavan. The state government said it had used the term “Naga political organizations” in its press release dated July 22, 2020.
