State govt requests CoRRP to call off Sit-in

DIMAPUR, JUL 8 (NPN)

Nagaland government has urged the 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) to withdraw its planned sit-in protest at the Civil Secretariat on July 9.
In an official statement, the chief secretary’s office reminded that the issue had already been discussed on June 3 in a meeting chaired by the deputy chief minister (Home), with CoRRP and apex tribal bodies in attendance. It was then conveyed that the matter would be referred to the state cabinet.
On June 12, the cabinet decided in principle to constitute a Commission to examine all aspects of the reservation policy. The Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department is actively following up. The government reiterated its commitment to resolve the matter through institutional mechanisms.
