State govt to roll out health insurance scheme

State chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, announced Tuesday that the state government was contemplating rolling out the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) from October 1, 2022.
Speaking at the “Garib Kalyan Sammelan”, which was led by the Prime Minister, the chief minister said that the CMHIS aims to provide every citizen of Nagaland with hospitalization insurance cover of upto Rs.5 lakh per annum irrespective of the family income.
‘Garib Kalyan Sammelan’ marked the completion of eight years of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi across the country at state capitals, district headquarters and Krishi Vigyan Kendras.On the occasion, Modi interacted virtually with beneficiaries of various Central schemes and released Rs 21,000 crore as the 11th instalment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi
As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Nagaland also joined the National program held at the State Cultural Hall, here on Tuesday.
Rio said that CMHIS will provide cashless services for predefined packages covering secondary and tertiary care procedures at empanelled Government or private hospitals, both within and outside the State.
He said the state government has also designed a Micro-Finance Scheme which will provide subsidized loans to the farmers and entrepreneurs in the State, which will be introduced in the coming month.
While interacting with the chief minister, the beneficiaries thanked the government for introducing different welfare schemes to uplift the economic status of the poor and downtrodden section of the society. The beneficiaries also expressed satisfaction and contentment over the implementation of different welfare schemes by the government departments.
Rio said that the state government and the central government would continue to build the capacities of the people, and provide the environment with sufficient opportunities for the innate strengths of the people to grow equally with the National economy.
With the active participation of the departments, legislators, and the village councils, there would be a change in the present scenario and the future of the State too.
With the many Centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in the state, the chief minister said around Rs 5000 crore are being transferred for various projects or to the beneficiaries in the State.
State chief secretary, J Alam, delivered the introductory remark, interaction of chief minister with the beneficiaries from the districts of Nagaland was also included while film on various beneficiary schemes were also presented.
The event is marked as one of the largest ever single-event nationwide interactions where the Prime Minister interacted with beneficiaries about the impact that the wide-ranging schemes/programmes.
