DIMAPUR

A two-day state-level review meeting cum orientation training on RMNCHA+N (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health + Nutrition) was held from June 25 to 26, 2025 at IDSP Hall, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW), Kohima.
According to DIPR report, the programme was chaired by National Health Mission (NHM) Mission Director, Dr. Avile Zao, and attended by District Programme Officers (RCH/UIP), District Programme Managers (DPMs), and Block Programme Managers.
Speaking at the programme, Dr. Avile acknowledged the efforts of district teams and urged them to strengthen performance on lagging health indicators. She described the review as a platform to assess past outcomes and plan for future improvements. She also highlighted that Nagaland’s Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), as per SRS 2022, stands at 7—one of the lowest in the country.
State Programme Officer for RMNCHA+N, Dr. Khelito Zhimomi, welcomed participants and encouraged cross-learning between districts, especially on effective practices.
Districts presented updates on achievements and challenges. Officers were also oriented on core RMNCHA+N components including high-risk pregnancy management, anaemia, SUMAN, LaQshya, MusQan, Maternal Perinatal Child Death Surveillance and Response (MPCDSR), family planning, and child health interventions.
