Accusing the UDA government of trying to delay Urban Local Bodies (ULB) polls despite a clear direction from the Supreme Court, Janata Dal (United) Nagaland unit said the party has decided to start democratic process of agitation to demand the conduct of ULB polls at the earliest.
JDU unit general secretary Kitoho S Rotokha stated that since the assembly elections was due by February 2023, it was “very exigent” that ULB polls are held within this year. However, since the government was unmoved, JD(U) state unit said it has decided to launch phase-wise agitation.
As part of phase-I, party would launch a poster campaign from August 16, 2022. In this regard, the JD(U) Nagaland has appealed to “all conscious citizens” to extend cooperation.
