The state level celebration of “Ayushman Bharat Health & Wellness Centre (H&WC) Diwas felicitation programme-cum-review meeting” was held at Capital Convention Centre, here on Thursday.
During the programme, director (health office) USAID, Sangita Patel said that with Ayushman Bharat, there was significant improvement in the community healthcare system and certificates presented to the workers were reminder of their hard work and dedication over the years. She informed that with “Ayushman Bharat”, community healthcare system would continue to improve and people would avail better healthcare system.
Patel also pointed out that failure and success depended on participation of stakeholders and in this regard, she appealed to all for continued help.
In his welcome address, National Health Mission (NHM), mission director, Dr. Thorkhusie Katiry said launching of Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY) was an initial step towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC) which ensures that people have access to quality health services including prevention, promotion, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliation without incurring financial hardship.
Dr. Katiry said the concept covered three key elements: access, quality and financial protection and added that India was committed to achieving UHC for all by 2030, which was fundamental to achieving the other sustainable development goals.
In his keynote address, joint secretary, Health & Family Welfare (H&FW), Ajit Ranjan acknowledged the healthcare workers for rendering their services and leadership skills.
Later, awards were presented to best performing CHOs which was followed by unveiling of wash learning resource package (poster and iLearn module).
